Statewide Intensive Training Program for sanitation workers in Maharashtra on their occupational safety and dignity to acknowledge their role in overall value chain for waste management in association with AIILSG

WHAT DID WE DO?
a. To promote occupational safety practices and the dignity of the sanitation workers. to 17 th September 2023 b. To train the participants on various aspects of occupational safety and dignity of sanitation workers in alignment with various government’s programs and schemes. c. To discuss the ground level challenges and opportunities in mechanized cleaning of sewer / septic tanks and solid waste and faecal sludge management.
OUTCOME
This initiative supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by ensuring worker safety, SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by promoting efficient sanitation practices, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing dignified employment opportunities. Additionally, it contributes to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by encouraging mechanized cleaning solutions and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by fostering sustainable waste management systems.
