Undertaking scientific research for waste characterization and quantification of more than 2300MTs over 10 days with a help of around 100 waste pickers for AMC. The study was done pre and post monsoon to identify the proportion of each waste type in the waste collected from each or 24 wards of BMC. Waste was characterized based on major generator types such as residential, commercial, institutional, slums etc. Additionally, the mass flow for various types of waste of from each collection point to final disposal point was mapped for Ahmedabad.
